Re: Mod 870 Stock Modification

Shown below is a description of Drop written by Morris Hollowell: "Drop - The distance from an imaginary straight line of sight extended along the rib of a shotgun rearward towards the butt---to the top of the stock at the comb or the heel. (In British: Bend). The amount of drop determines how ...

Re: Mod 870 Stock Modification

If you are putting a trap-dimensioned stock on a standard gun, you will change the drop at heel, and will raise the point of impact versus the skeet/field gun.

Two thoughts - Suggest you post this question in the rifle section - This is for shotguns.

Secondly - I'd work hard to get closer than 400-500 yards

RST Shotshells can help you out. They are the best for vintage shells.

Admin - Don't know why you say that you "definitely shouldn't shoot it". Many damascus guns are being shot very successfully today. Have the gun inpected by a capable SxS gunsmith, then shoot low pressure loads like those available from RST. Great stuff

Suggest you post this question on the rifle forum, rather than the shotgun forum

From what I know about 3200's, I would not get out your wallet if the gun show man offers to sell you a bridge

Re: 11-87 L/H Safety

You're right - What we have here is a failure to communicate. My fault, I'm sure. The gun in question is a L/H 11/87. The trigger has gone bad ( feed mechanism has broken). Appears that Remington no longer stocks LH trigger groups for the 11-87 (I assume it is the same part as an 1100( ? ) As a resu...

Re: 11-87 L/H Safety

I already have a L/H trigger group which has gone bad. Hoping to be able to cannibalize the present one and modify a R/H trigger group. It appears that L/H 11-87 trigger groups are no longer available from Big Green

11-87 L/H Safety

Is there a video or instruction sheet to convert a R/H trigger group to L/H, ie change the safety?

Thanks

Re: 11-87 Trigger Group

FWIW, my S-I_L, who is not really a gun guy, but is very mechanically-minded, picked up the trigger, stared at it, turned it over several times, and pushed and pribed, and suddenly, it worked, His answer "I have no idea what I did". Anyway, the gun is now on its way to the range tomorrow.
