Re: Factory Rib?
Simmons ribs I have seen on Win 42's or M12's typically have "Simmons Specialties" or something similar roll stamped on the left side of the rib near the breech end.

Re: 11-87 L/H
Thanks for the help. I was aware of the splitting potential on the aft end of the forearms, hence the fiberglas reinforcement, but had not heard of an issue on the front end. Grandson is tall and SKINNY, so I had him shooting 1 oz loads with 800X powder. He still was getting pushed around a bit Am g...

11-87 L/H
I recently picked up an 11-87 LH for my grandson. Gun has the light contour barrel, and didn't appear to have ever been shot. There is no date code on the left side of the barrel. Is that common? Secondly - there is an end of a small brass pin on the left side of the forearm, perhaps 1 1/2 inches fr...

Re: 11-87 Camo Premier
This gun has replaced stocks. The gun is a used duck gun which had the aftermarket camo plastic stock and forearm added. Gun is high gloss bluing, with simple "Premier" logo. Not like the later guns which have the more elaborate engraving and Premier logo. My friend got the gun cheap enoug...

11-87 Camo Premier
Did Remington ever make a camo version of the Premier 11-87. Am looking at a gun and am trying to figure out if the stocks are original. Thanks.

Re: Model 31 Stock Question
Tang trigger guard? I have my dad's M31, bought new in about 1947, and the safety is on the back of the trigger guard.

Re: 11-48 Produced with adjustable choke system
Not familiar with the Herter's specifically, but the Polychoke is screwed on. Taking it off will leave a threaded section on the barrel.

Re: Remington Model 1900 Double Barrel Shotgun
M31 30" matted rib. I still shoot the gun. Had a Briley thin wall steel shot choke installed, and the gun is still my favorite duck gun

Re: Picked up a 16 gauge sportsman 58
Gun appears to be in good shape. IMHO investing in a set of screw chokes will diminish the value of the gun, in addition to the $$$ you invest with Briley. Suggest you buy another M58 barrel
