Re: Dating Kleanbore shells & box
That style box begins to appear in 1934 and began being replaced with the green and red boxes which were introduced in 1939 on the Shur-Shot trap and skeet loads with the "New Remington Crimp." The Arrow Express extra length shells still used that style box for a few years after WW-II. Fro...

Re: Model 17
It would be near the end of the Model 17 production. According to the old factory ledger the receiver with that serial number was put in work between 19 and 26 May 1933. Model 17 production essentially ended in October 1933 with one more gun produced in 1939. There should be a two-letter date code o...

Re: remington model 31 marking info.
Possibly something like Independence, Oregon, Police with P-48 a rack number.
Ironton, Ohio, Police
Inola, Oklahoma, Police
In reality, something lost to history.

Re: Model 11 Shotgun
The receiver with serial number 390722 was put in work during 1936. That is right in the time frame when Remington started putting the roll-stamped birds on the sides of the Model 11A, B & C receivers, though they still pictured the plain receiver in the 1936 & 7 catalogs -- March 6, 1936, M...

Re: Model 11 20 gauge
The Model 11 20-gauge was introduced in 1930. Serial numbers began at 1000000. The receiver with serial number 1063088 was put in work during February 1941 according to the old factory ledger.

What is the company name on the barrel? Does the barrel serial number match the receiver? Re: Sportsman Serial Numbers
Serial number 772379 would be a post-WW-II gun, 1946 to 49. The old factory ledger ended at serial number 716840 as of 9/1/44. The highest serial number I've recorded is 804163 with a barrel date code of KTT which is K = May TT=1948.

Re: Sportsman Serial Numbers
The 16-gauge receiver pictured by "Hagbard" would have been put in work during March or April 1937 according to the old factory ledger and the date stamp on the barrel KF K = May F = 1937. There is also a repair stamp LK3 L = February K = 1941.

Re: model 17
As Remington was spinning off excess capacity and debt after the wartime contracts of WW-I were cancelled, so they formed a new corporation in 1920, Remington Arms Co., Inc. and a couple months later the old corporation, The Remington Arms Union Metallic Cartridge Co., Inc., was dissolved. The Model...

Re: 1894 With Strange S/N ???
A bit more information to add to that stated above. The lower priced (slightly simplified?) Remington Hammerless Double Barrel Gun built on the same Oct. 30th, 1894, patents as the A- to EEO-grades (aka Model 1894s), was introduced in K-Grade, Remington Steel barrels and plain extractor, with an ins...

Re: SKEET vs SKEET-B vs SKEET-T
The Model 1100 has been in production 70 years. There are a lot of variations. From the introduction in 1963-4 there was the Model 1100 SA Skeet and the Model 1100 SB Skeet B with slightly nicer wood. Actually, in the first year of two they listed the Model 1100 SC with much nicer wood and cut check...

I don't see anything odd about a receiver put in work during August/September 1940 getting finished up with a January 1941 barrel.

The RSS (Rifled Slug Specials) were introduced in the early 1960s, a year or two before the Model 1100 was introduced --

Re: Older 12 GA Serial Number Question
According to the best serial number chronology I have, your gun is of 1907 vintage. The year J.J. Blanks won the Grand American Handicap with one of these John M. Browning designed Remington guns. 1907 GAH Winner The American Field, June 29, 1907.jpeg 1907 GAH Winner, J.J. Blanks, The American Field...
